Angie Mar Before and After

I began my transformation back in 2015; I was very unhealthy physically, emotionally, and mentally all at the time. I had my daughter in November 2010, the best present I could ask for after miscarrying my first child. But I neglected myself during the first few years of being a full-time working mom and really let myself go. I eventually ended up at the extremely unhealthy weight of 210lbs.

I knew I wanted to make a change but didn’t know how. I was embarrassed to go to a gym alone because all I can think of is everyone going to look at me. I was browsing through Facebook and saw my friend doing all these competitions and remember saying to myself that looks like so much fun. Finally, I had enough guts to ask her what she was doing. Amanda told me she did CrossFit and so, of course, I asked her a bunch of questions, being that I wasn’t in the greatest shape and hadn’t worked out in years but I really wanted to give it a try. She gave me all the encouragement that I needed and even met me at the “box” for my very first WOD! The workout was "deck of cards" and it was so much fun! Despite the fact that I could barely breath by time the workout was over, I was hooked!

Every day I got up at 5am to get my workout in and I never felt better! AND I never got bored because every day presented a new challenge being that the workouts are never the same. Little by little, my confidence in myself began to grow. And I was constantly motivated by my daughter. I knew I needed to get healthier to set an good example. I also wanted to be able to run and play with her and really enjoy every minute I got to spend with her.

As I started feeling better about myself I was able to encourage others to get healthy as well. THAT was and still is an amazing feeling!

Consistency, hard work, and dedication will get you where you want to go.Not only am I still continuing to get healthier, but I'm finishing up PA school and raising my beautiful daughter to be a healthy, strong, confident, individual. And I'm doing all of it as a single mom! It is never too late to start and change to be the best you, you can be.

Diet:I follow a strict macro nutrient meal plan. I have a certain amount of protein, carbs, and fat a day that my coach from Working Against Gravity has assigned for me based on my daily check ins.

Exercise: I do CrossFit 5 days a week with 200-300 cal run 3 days a week. I also include mountain biking, running and movement classes.
