We looked online for a journal we could use all day: a day planner, to-do list and goal setter, nutrition log, and workout journal. Plus, we wanted it to look nice too. After scouring the internet, we came up empty handed. And voila, the Gym Gypsy Workout Journal was born. Our hope is that women athletes of all varieties will find that the Gym Gypsy Journal streamlines the amount of “stuff” they carry around and helps them stay organized and stylish all at the same time.
There is a goals section at the beginning of every month so you can make goals, review them at the beginning and end of each month, and measure progress throughout the year. And hopefully you will celebrate goals achieved along the way!
To-do and Appointments
Each day has a “To-Do” list and a section to list appointments. We all know the day can get away from us and appointments can easily be forgotten. This makes it easier to stay on top of everything.
The training section is packed with sections to record all of the different elements that can positively or negatively impact your workouts. There are spaces to record your sleep, mood, levels of fatigue, stress, soreness, and motivation.
There are also sections to record your actual training and we made sure to include all the aspects of what makes a well-rounded fitness routine including:
- Strength/Skill Work
As much as we’d like to eat donuts and pizza every day in unlimited quantities, we know a well-rounded diet is the key to feeling, performing and looking our best. The nutrition section makes it easy to keep track of what you’ve eaten throughout the day, while you’re out and about. There is room for tracking food and amounts, calories, carbs, fat, and protein.
Notes and Motivational Sayings
We all have those moments when we think of something and we need to write it down RIGHT THIS MINUTE or it will be gone forever. We’ve got you covered with the notes sections at the end of every day. We also snuck some motivational sayings and words to live by throughout the entire year. Look for those and enjoy!
Personal Records Section
At the end of every month, there’s a section to record your personal records (PRs). This is super handy since trying to flip through an entire year’s worth of workouts to find your heaviest hang power clean or fastest 800 m can really eat up some valuable training time. We made this section broad so that athletes of every variety can use it to keep track of their progress.
